General terms and conditions

Kyra Dressel, referred to below as pet sitter

1 General

1.1 The pet sitter undertakes to keep everything she becomes aware of in connection with the order confidential to third parties. The pet sitter undertakes to carry out the tasks assigned to her to the best of her knowledge and belief and with due care and competence.

1.2 If there is a risk to property or illness of animals, the pet sitter will first inform the customer if possible, or alternatively the emergency person named by the customer. If necessary, e.g. in the event of storm damage, fire, water damage or burglary, the pet sitter will also independently notify the fire brigade, police or emergency services at the customer's expense.

1.3 The client undertakes to provide all necessary resources (including instructions for use and technical descriptions) in perfect condition on site free of charge at the start of the order. Consumables such as animal feed, cleaning products, etc. must be provided in sufficient quantities. If it is necessary to procure supplies, the client will cover the costs.

2 Animals

2.1 The pet sitter undertakes to look after and walk the animals in a way that is appropriate to their species and behavior and to observe the Animal Welfare Act and its ancillary provisions.

2.2 The pet sitter must be informed by the client about any behavioral abnormalities of the animals, such as destructiveness, biting incidents, aggression, fear of loss or illnesses.

2.3 Any liability towards the pet sitter is excluded for damage caused by the client's animals. This should be covered by liability insurance on the part of the owner. The pet sitter is only liable to the client or third parties for damage caused by the pet sitter when fulfilling the order due to clear intent or gross negligence and the pet sitter was not or not sufficiently instructed by the client.

2.4 If animals become ill, the pet sitter will contact the veterinarian or go to an emergency clinic on her own if consultation is not possible. In the event that the customer or the person of trust cannot be reached, the pet sitter is authorized to decide on the necessary treatment based on the advice of the veterinarian. If a visit to the veterinarian is necessary during the care period, the examination and treatment costs as well as the transport costs will be invoiced to the customer.

2.5 No liability is accepted for injuries/death that an animal may suffer during the agreed care period (through no fault of the pet sitter). Even with the most careful care, an animal can escape. If the animal cannot be found despite intensive efforts, the owner has no right to compensation.
